How is the surface knurling formed during the stamping of parts

by:Fortuna     2021-03-06
Knurling is a machining process for rolling patterns on the handles of metal products or other working surfaces, mainly for anti-slip purposes. The method of using a knurling knife to roll the surface of a stamping part into a straight or net pattern is called knurling, which can be divided into straight knurling wheel, right twill knurling wheel, and six-wheel knurling cutter. The patterns are straight and net. Two kinds. After the stamping parts are knurled, they can increase the aesthetics and are easy to hold. They are often used for the outer surface processing of micropipes, winch wrenches and other parts. The radial extrusion force of the knurling is very large, so during processing, the knurling tool holder is pressed tightly, and the speed of the stamping part should be lower. It is necessary to fully supply the cooling lubricant to avoid damaging the knurled knife and prevent the fine chips from being stuck in the knurling knife and causing chaotic lines. In the process of knurling, the roller presses the metal layer on the processed surface back and forth to produce certain plastic deformation to form a pattern, so the radial pressure generated during knurling is very large. Before knurling, the knurled surface of the stamping parts should be reduced (0.8~1.6) m (modulus) according to the nature of the material of the stamping part and the size of the knurling pitch. The knurling cutter is clamped on the tool holder of the lathe, and the center of the knurling cutter is installed at the same height as the center of rotation of the stamping part. When rolling non-ferrous metals or workpieces with high requirements on the knurled surface, the roller surface of the knurling cutter is installed at an angle of 3°~5° to the left relative to the surface of the workpiece, so that it is easy to cut and not easy to produce chaotic lines. Precautions for rolling: (1) When starting rolling, you must use a higher pressure to feed the knife to make the stamping part engrave a deeper pattern, otherwise it is easy to produce chaotic lines. (2) In order to reduce the radial pressure at the beginning of rolling, 1/2 to 1/3 of the width of the roller surface can be contacted with the stamping part, so that the knurling tool can be easily pressed into the surface of the workpiece, and the knurling in the parking inspection car After the workpiece is required, the tool can be moved longitudinally. After rolling 1~3 times in this way, until the pattern is prominent. (3) When knurling, the cutting speed should be reduced, generally 5~10m/min. Choose a larger longitudinal feed, generally 0.3~0.6mm/r. (4) When knurling, it is necessary to pour cutting oil to lubricate the rollers, and often cut out the cutting produced by the rolling wheel.
