Stamping processing is one of the practical processes for mass production of parts. Die failure is the most prone problem in stamping production, which often results in production shutdown and affects the product production cycle. Therefore, the cause of mold failure must be found as soon as possible and reasonable maintenance should be carried out. 1. Mold damage Mold damage refers to the mold cracking, breaking, expanding, etc. To deal with the problem of mold damage, it is necessary to find the reason from the mold design, manufacturing process and mold use. If foreign matter enters the mold, overlapping parts, and waste obstruction are not handled in time, and the processing and production are inherited, the blanking plate, punch, lower template and guide post of the mold will be easily damaged. If the design of the spring force is too small or the contour sleeves are not equal in height, the spring will break and the blanking plate will tilt, causing overlapping punching and damaging the parts. If the quenching temperature of the mold is too high, the quenching method and time are inappropriate, and the number of tempering, temperature and time are not selected properly, the mold will be damaged after it enters the stamping production. Improper fixing of the punch or insufficient screw strength may cause the punch to fall or break. The working height is adjusted too low and the guide post is insufficiently lubricated. Usually, the heat treatment process of the mold material has a great influence on it. The size or depth of the blanking hole is not designed enough to easily block the slot hole and cause damage to the blanking board. When the mold is used, the position and direction of the parts are installed incorrectly or the bolts are not fastened. 2. The main reasons for the jamming caused by the jamming are: the mold orientation is incorrect and inclined. Otherwise, the failure will be enlarged, resulting in damage to the mold and deformation of the mold. For example, the hardness and thickness of the mold base and template are too small, and they are easily deformed by external force; the mold position is not installed correctly, and the positioning error of the upper and lower molds is out of tolerance. At this time, the punch strength should be improved and the guide protection of the discharge plate should be enhanced. . Or the accuracy of the press is too poor, causing the mold to interfere; the strength of the punch is not enough, the size of the punch is too close, and the lateral force of the mold is unbalanced. In the stamping process, once the mold clamping is inflexible or even stuck, it is necessary to immediately stop production, find out the cause of the stuck mold, and eliminate the fault. 3. The cost of mold damage and maintenance of stamping production molds is high. Usually mold costs account for 1/5 to 1/4 of the total cost of the parts. The one-time repair cost exceeds 70% of the original cost of the die, or the die life is near. When the mold repair technology is too complicated and the mold repair cost is too large, the difficulty will inevitably make the repair cycle too long, which will severely affect the normal production of stamping, and you should choose to fail and scrap in advance and re-manufacture the mold. Generally speaking, after the mold is damaged, the imported reducer still has a choice of maintenance and scrapping. Therefore, timely maintenance of molds to prevent mold damage can greatly reduce mold costs for stamping production. Under normal circumstances, from the time a new mold is put into use to its failure and discarded, the main form of failure of stamping molds is excessive wear. From the manufacture and delivery of new molds, until the burrs of the punched parts exceed the standard, the size and shape accuracy of the parts are out of tolerance, and the mold can no longer be repaired or has no repair value at all, the mold can only be scrapped.
