Briefly describe the application of laser processing in mold processing

1. Make a blanking die

Blanking dies for small batch production can be manufactured by laser processing. Because the characteristic of laser processing is that it cannot thicken the plate, it usually adopts the structure of superimposing several layers of thin plates. According to the energy of different laser machines, the thickness of the sheet that can be processed is 2-8mm. The high-power laser processing is slightly thicker, and the low-power laser processing has a smaller thickness. After the plate is processed, it is polished and deburred, cleaned and degreasing, and then the thin plates are glued together in turn with a metal adhesive, and appropriate pressure is applied.

2. Manufacturing deep drawing, die casting, rubber, plastic and other molds

Laser-processed and learned thin plates are superimposed into a three-dimensional shape, which can be used as a deep drawing die. The specific method is: processing the shape and fixing holes of each thin plate at the same time, and determining the position of the pin during assembly, and fixing it with screws to make it into a whole. Then, a finishing method is used to remove the steps formed by the thickness of each plate on the composite body, that is, the required drawing, die-casting, rubber, plastic and other molds are made.

3. Determine the trimming size of the part after drawing

If the drawn part is a three-dimensional shape, the cutting edge adopts the punching method, which is much more difficult than the punching of the plane shape plate. In particular, the flange needs to be bent after punching, and the trimming size must be inspected Make corrections again. This kind of processing requires skilled skills and consumes a lot of man-hours, and can reduce the number of trial processing. (Guide: Analysis of the characteristics of high-speed processing machine tools in mold manufacturing)

4. Determine the shape of the trial blank

It is difficult to determine the shape of the blank during the deep-drawing of three-dimensional special-shaped parts. The shape of the blank can be determined only after several trimmings according to the produced drawing die. In the past, pliers and power tools or wire cutting methods were used to cut blanks. Now using CNC laser processing and cutting, not only the shape is correct, but also the cutting speed is fast.
