Causes of curling of metal stamping parts

Metal stamping parts may sound complicated, but in fact they are all around us. Our daily life is now inseparable from metal stamping parts. In the process of production, stamping parts manufacturers often find curling defects on the holes of the metal stamping parts. After many years of precise experience summarizing, the following types of hemming defects are obtained. (1) Curling due to uneven surface of the die. When the cutting edge of the cavity is collapsed or vacant, the disadvantage is usually caused when punching under the condition of dents after carrying out partial adjustment. (2) Edge curling due to imperfect design of the inverted material board. Because the gap between the pouring board and the mold base is too large, curling is caused. The countermeasure is that the pouring board needs to be close to the mold base. In addition, even if the design is that way, the same situation will usually occur if the strength of the dumping board is weak. (3) When bending and stamping are additionally carried out, the curling caused by stretching. When the bending production process and the stamping production process are separately completed, because the hole is stretched into an oval shape, curling is usually caused. The countermeasures are: either separate the two processes, or pay attention to the smooth progress of stamping and bending. (4) When carrying out bending production processing, the guiding hole becomes oblate. When performing bending production processing with hole guidance, the hole becomes elliptical due to stretching. The countermeasure is to increase the working pressure of the dumper or change the guiding method. [Related recommendation] Learn more: Answer the reason why the motor shell is electrified.
