1. Classification of CNC wire cutting machine tools

  1. Brief Introduction of NC Wire EDM Machining

   Wire EDM is a branch of EDM. It is a process that directly uses electrical and thermal energy to process. It uses a moving wire (electrode wire) as a tool electrode to cut the workpiece. Therefore, it is called wire cutting. In the wire cutting process, the relative movement of the workpiece and the electrode wire is realized by digital control, so it is also called numerical control electric discharge wire cutting, or wire cutting for short.

  2. Classification of CNC wire cutting machine tools

   (1) Divided by wire speed: It can be divided into slow wire mode and high-speed wire mode.

   (2) According to processing characteristics: can be divided into large, medium, small and ordinary straight wall cutting type and taper cutting type wire cutting machine tools.

   2. The basic composition of CNC wire cutting machine tools

   CNC WEDM machine tools can be divided into two parts: the machine tool host and the console.

  1. Console

   The console is equipped with a control system and an automatic programming system, which can carry out automatic programming and digital control of the movement of the machine coordinate table in the console.

  2. Machine host

  The main machine of the machine tool mainly includes five parts: the coordinate table, the wire transport mechanism, the wire frame, the cooling system and the bed. The figure below is a schematic diagram of the main machine of the fast-moving wire cutting machine.

   (1) The coordinate table is used to clamp the workpiece to be processed, and its movement is controlled by two stepping motors respectively.

   (2) Wire transport mechanism It is used to control the relative movement between the electrode wire and the workpiece.

  (3) Wire frame It forms the movement system of the electrode wire together with the wire transport mechanism. Its function is mainly to support the electrode wire and maintain a certain geometric angle between the working part of the electrode wire and the plane of the worktable to meet the processing needs of various workpieces (such as tapered workpieces).

   (4) Cooling system It is used to provide a working medium and working fluid with a certain insulating property, and at the same time it can cool the workpiece and the electrode wire.
