Classification of transmission gears
Mechanical parts that rely on continuously meshing teeth to transmit motion and power are called gears. A pair of gears are installed on the main shaft and the driven shaft respectively, and the transmission mode of the two gears meshing with each other to transmit movement and power is called gear transmission.
There are many classification methods for gears and gear transmissions, such as the tooth profile curve of the gear, the shape of the gear, the relative position between the two gear axes, and the external structure classification of the gear transmission.
According to the gear tooth profile classification, it can be divided into involute gears, arc gears and cycloid gears.
According to its shape classification, it can be divided into cylindrical gears, bevel gears, non-circular gears, racks and worm gears.
According to the shape of the tooth line, it can be divided into spur gears, helical gears, and curve (such as hypoid) gears of herringbone gears.
According to the working conditions of the gears, they are classified into three types: closed, open and semi-open.
In addition, gears can be further classified according to the relative position of the two gear axes;
