After the metal stamping process is formed, a surface treatment process is usually required to increase the physical properties of the stamping parts to achieve a higher process standard. Some surface treatment processes are to increase the appearance, some are to increase acidity, alkalinity, or conductivity, etc. This article mainly describes the purpose of different surface treatments. 1: Electroplating The process of attaching a layer of metal film to the surface of metal by electrolysis, which plays a role in preventing corrosion, weldability, conductivity, and improving aesthetics. Usually electroplated with gold, silver, nickel, zinc, tin. Advantages: After plating, the surface layer has high gloss and beautiful metal appearance. It is a surface treatment process that satisfies most electronic components. 2: Anodizing is mainly anodizing of aluminum materials, which uses electrochemical principles to generate a layer of aluminum oxide film on the surface of aluminum and aluminum alloys. This oxide film has special characteristics such as protection, decoration, insulation, and abrasion resistance. Advantages: It can increase the intensity and realize any color except white. It can realize nickel-free sealing and meet the requirements of countries such as Europe and the United States for nickel-free. (Anodic oxidation) 3: Electrophoresis is used for stainless steel, aluminum alloy, etc., which can make the product show various colors and maintain the metallic luster, while enhancing the surface performance and having better anti-corrosion performance. Advantages: multi-color surface treatment can be used to achieve surface treatment with complex structures; and it can be used with the subsequent processes of sandblasting, polishing, and wire drawing. (Black electrophoresis) 4. Micro-arc oxidation The process of applying high voltage in an electrolyte solution (usually a weak alkaline solution) to generate a ceramicized surface film. This process is the result of the synergistic effect of physical discharge and electrochemical oxidation. Advantages: The ceramic texture is mostly used for appearance, and the heat dissipation performance is good, but the color is single and the cost is higher. 5. PVD vacuum plating Physical vapor deposition is a technology that mainly uses physical processes to deposit thin films. Advantages: It can be coated with high-hardness, high-wear resistance cermet decorative coating on the metal surface. 6. Powder spraying is to spray powder coating on the surface of the workpiece with powder spraying equipment (electrostatic spraying machine). Under the action of static electricity, The powder will be uniformly absorbed on the surface of the workpiece to form a powdery coating; the powdery coating is baked and leveled at high temperature to become the final coating with different effects (different types of powder coating effects). Advantages: Rich colors, high gloss and matte finish are optional; low cost, suitable for building furniture products and chassis shells, etc., strong ability to hide defects 7. Metal wire drawing is a decorative effect by forming lines on the surface of the workpiece by grinding the product A surface treatment method. According to the different lines after drawing, it can be divided into: straight drawing, chaotic drawing, corrugation, and swirling. Advantages: The wire drawing treatment can make the metal surface obtain a non-mirror-like metallic luster, and the wire drawing treatment can also eliminate the fine flaws on the metal surface. (Surface drawing diagrams of different metals) 8. Sandblasting uses compressed air as power to form a high-speed jet beam to spray the spray material on the surface of the workpiece to be processed at a high speed, so that the appearance or shape of the outer surface of the workpiece surface is changed to obtain a certain degree A process of cleanliness and different roughness. The advantages realize different reflective or matt. It can clean up the tiny burrs on the surface of the workpiece and make the surface of the workpiece smoother. 9. Polishing Use flexible polishing tools and abrasive particles or other polishing media to modify the surface of the workpiece. Advantages: Does not change any physical properties of the material, and can be used for other surface treatment pretreatment processes.
