Do you know the difference between thin plate and thick plate in stamping processing?

Stamping sheet and stamping thick plate are the materials used for metal stamping parts. From the thickness, the standard is that the thickness is more than 4mm to become thick, and the thickness below 4mm is called thin. The properties of the two are the same under the same material. In actual situations Can be selected according to specific products. The forming method of thin plate is the same as other metal materials, mainly through casting and plastic deformation. Casting can produce parts with more complicated shapes. At present, about 80% of the thin-plate parts on the market are produced by casting methods. However, due to the shrinkage and porosity of the structure of the parts produced by casting, the comprehensive mechanical properties are poor, the wall thickness is serious, and the material waste is serious, and the casting method cannot The production of thin-walled parts with large surface area, harsh production conditions, serious environmental pollution, low production efficiency, and high production costs limit its wide application in industrial production. For plate parts characterized by thin walls and large surface areas, stamping is the most practical method, which can quickly produce thin-walled parts with good comprehensive mechanical properties. Sheet stamping forming processes mainly include drawing, bending, flanging, necking, flaring, bulging, and special forming. During stamping, the material is deformed mainly by two major types of deformation properties: elongation and compression. Among them, deep drawing is the most common and most important forming process method. The deformation of the material during the drawing process includes elongation and compression deformation, and the defects generated are typical. For example, it can solve the thin plate deep drawing process. Problems, other stamping process problems are relatively easy to solve. The characteristics of sheet stamping: 1. When stamping, the die gap is smaller than the reasonable gap will cause the sheet to break, and the cracks are prone to overlap. The smaller the thickness, the smaller the crack length, and the smaller the gap of the stamping die. 2. Thin materials with greater resilience but better cross-section quality are prone to deformation during stamping. After stamping, the workpiece will return to its original shape when the workpiece returns to its original shape. Due to the thin thickness and the high perpendicularity between the stamping section and the surface, the quality of the produced metal stamping parts will be better. 3. The thin plate has a smaller punching gap, and ordinary punching requires higher precision. The cooperation between the guide post of the mold base and the guide sleeve should reach h6/h5, and the rolling guide sleeve structure is used to fix the production. Of course, there are also many structural parts that are punched from thick plates. This not only ensures that the parts have sufficient strength and rigidity, but also can increase the service life of the parts, increase labor productivity, and reduce production costs. Therefore, thick plate blanking technology As the main development direction and development project of modern blanking technology, it is becoming more and more eye-catching. However, due to the harsh stress conditions of the punch during thick plate blanking, various factors in the design, manufacturing, and use process may cause the punch to bend, chip, break, and wear severely, resulting in a short die life. The mold life is an important indicator to measure mold technology and economic level. The development of new mold structure, new technology, new materials, and a significant increase in mold life is an important content in the development of my country's mold industry. On the other hand, the quality of the stamping products of thick plate blanking is very poor, especially the punching surface is uneven, the size and shape accuracy are low, and it is difficult to produce the stamping parts with complex contours. The features of thick plate stamping: 1. When the thick plate is punched, there is a larger punching gap. 2. The deformation pressure issued by the stamping is proportional to the thickness of the material. When adjusting the punching machine, pay attention to the setting of the punching force should be less than the maximum force allowed by the punching machine. The hardening phenomenon is relatively large, and the shear strength of the sheet is greater than that of the thin sheet. 3. The dimensional accuracy and surface treatment effect of stamping parts will be affected by the thickness of the plate, and it is necessary to increase the refurbishment process to improve the accuracy.
