Fasteners in China and EU are not homogenous

The domestic standard parts industry believes that Chinese products are not homogenous with those produced by most EU manufacturers, and the application fields and consumer groups of the products are different. Therefore, there is no direct competition relationship, let alone industrial damage.

As the most authoritative organization for standard parts testing in China, the National Standard Parts Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center quickly identified its position in the anti-dumping case, and provided technical support in response to the suit. In this symposium, the participants agreed that although China’s output of standard parts has now become the world’s largest, the products exported to the EU are still dominated by the low-end and middle-end products, and the customers of EU fastener manufacturers are mainly Industries that require very high product quality, such as automobiles and aviation. The representative of the center believes that most domestic products are used in ordinary fields, and the steel used is also low- and medium-carbon steel, and the product quality does not need to be fully inspected, while EU products are mostly used in high-end fields, with strict access qualifications, and alloys are used. Steel materials, products require zero defects. The center will identify the gap between the two through comparative testing, and analyze the formation of price differences from the gaps in raw material costs, production equipment costs, labor costs, and testing costs, so as to overturn the view that there is dumping of Chinese standard parts.

In the near future, the center will implement a comparative testing and analysis of standard parts produced in the EU and domestically, and use actual data to provide strong support for the domestic standard parts industry to respond to EU anti-dumping defenses without harm.
