The correct use of precision measuring tools is one of the important conditions to ensure product quality. 1. When measuring parts on the machine tool, wait until the parts are completely stopped, otherwise it will not only cause premature wear of the measuring surface of the measuring tool and loss of accuracy, but also cause accidents.

2. Before measuring, the measuring surface of the measuring tool and the measured surface of the part should be wiped clean, so as not to affect the measurement accuracy due to the presence of dirt. It is wrong to use precision measuring tools such as vernier calipers, dial gauges and dial indicators to measure the forging blanks, or the surface with abrasives (such as emery, etc.), which will easily cause the measurement surface to wear quickly and lose accuracy.

3. When measuring tools are in use, do not stack them with tools, knives, such as files, hammers, turning tools and drills, to avoid damage to the measuring tools. Especially vernier calipers, etc., should be placed flat in a special box to avoid deformation of the ruler body.

4. The measuring tool is a measuring tool and must not be used as a substitute for other tools. For example, it is wrong to use a vernier caliper to draw lines, a centimeter as a small hammer, a steel ruler as a screwdriver, and a steel ruler to clean up chips. It is also wrong to use a measuring tool as a toy, such as holding a centimeter in your hand, and arbitrarily swinging or shaking it, and it is easy to make the measuring tool lose its accuracy.

5. Temperature has a great influence on the measurement results. The precise measurement of parts must be carried out at 20℃. Generally, the measurement can be performed at room temperature, but the temperature of the workpiece and the measuring tool must be the same, otherwise, the measurement result will be inaccurate due to the thermal expansion and contraction characteristics of the metal material. Temperature also has a great influence on the accuracy of measuring tools. Measuring tools should not be placed in the sun or on the bedside box, because the temperature of the measuring tools will not be able to measure the correct size. Do not place precision measuring tools near heat sources (such as electric furnaces, heat exchangers, etc.) to avoid thermal deformation of the measuring tools and loss of accuracy.
