Safe use and management is an important part of the grinding machine, including a series of work such as the installation, transportation, and storage of the grinding wheel. The negligence of any link will bury hidden safety hazards for the grinding machine.
1. Inspection of grinding wheel
The grinding wheel must be strictly inspected before installation and use. Grinding wheels with cracks and other defects are definitely not allowed to be installed and used.
(1) Mark inspection of grinding wheel. The grinding wheel is unmarked or unclear, and the grinding wheel that cannot be checked and confirmed, regardless of whether it is defective or not, cannot be used.
(2) Inspection of grinding wheel defects. The inspection methods are visual inspection and audio inspection:
①Visual inspection is to check whether there are cracks or breakages on the surface of the grinding wheel directly with the naked eye or with the help of other instruments.
②Sound inspection is also called percussion test, which is mainly for the internal defects of the grinding wheel. The inspection method is to strike the grinding wheel with a small wooden hammer. The sound of a normal grinding wheel is crisp, dull and hoarse, indicating a problem.
(3) Rotational strength inspection of grinding wheel. A batch of grinding wheels of the same model shall be subjected to random inspection of rotation strength, and batches of grinding wheels without strength inspection are strictly prohibited to be installed and used. (Guide: The external causes of the locking phenomenon of stainless steel fasteners)
2. Installation of grinding wheel
(1) Check whether the characteristics of the grinding wheel meet the requirements for use, and whether the size of the grinding wheel and the spindle match.
(2) Assemble the grinding wheel to the spindle of the grinding wheel freely, and do not use force to squeeze. The clearance between the inner diameter of the grinding wheel and the spindle and the chuck is appropriate to avoid being too large or too small. The mating surface is clean and there is no debris.
(3) The chuck of the grinding wheel should be symmetrical, and the radial width of the pressing surface should be equal. The pressing surface is straight, fully in contact with the side of the grinding wheel, and the clamping is stable, preventing the two sides of the grinding wheel from being deformed or even broken due to unbalanced force.
(4) A certain thickness of flexible material liner (such as asbestos rubber plate, elastic thick cardboard or leather, etc.) should be sandwiched between the chuck and the end face of the grinding wheel, so that the clamping force of the chuck is evenly distributed.
(5) The tightness of the tightening wheel should be compressed enough to drive the wheel without slipping, and not too tight. When using multiple bolts to fasten a large chuck, it should be tightened gradually and evenly in a diagonal pair order. It is forbidden to tighten the bolts sequentially in the circumferential direction, or tighten one bolt at a time. Only standard wrenches can be used to tighten the grinding wheel chuck, and it is forbidden to use an extended wrench or tapping to increase the tightening force.
