Generally speaking, the principle of riveting machine is to produce the required deformation through the punching and extrusion of the riveting head and the workpiece. The extrusion process is quite different from the ordinary stamping and rolling process. The common method is strong instant deformation, which requires large tonnage of equipment and improved riveting structure to improve the ability to resist bad deformation. The basic principle of riveting deformation is that the axis of the riveting head forms an angle of 3 degrees with the axis of the rivet (Figure 1). When the riveting head is riveted, the contact between the riveting head and the rivet is a point. The swinging movement of the head deforms each point on the motion track point by point, thereby extending the deformation to the entire rivet end surface (Guide: Introduction to the stamping process)
The difference between the radial model and the orbiting roller model lies in the different trajectory. The riveting trajectory of the orbiting machine is shown in Figure 1. Different trajectories produce different riveting effects. The radial model has better riveting effect due to the structure, and the riveting process is more stable. It can also be riveted for workpieces with inconvenient clamping. The trajectory of the radial machine is an 11-petal quincunx shape. It can also be used for metal riveting on ceramic, plastic, and wooden workpieces, and can be used for embossing and marking applications. The swing rolling machine is widely used in the rough machining field, and these fields do not require high precision and apparent quality.
