ISCAR releases new small angle spiral flute drill bit

The improved ISCAR small-angle spiral flute drill is specially used for lathes or other horizontal hole processing machine tools, which can significantly improve the stability of non-rotating drilling. The special DR drill for ISCAR lathe adopts a small-angle spiral groove design and a high-strength tool steel tool rod with a hardness of HRC55, which greatly improves the rigidity of the drill rod. At the same time, the surface of the drill pipe is treated with HARDTOUCH nickel-phosphorus coating, which reduces the coefficient of friction with the surface and smooth chip removal.

Compared with standard spiral blade drills, the small-angle spiral groove design of DR drills for ISCAR lathes requires less toolholder material to be removed to form spiral chip flutes, which significantly improves the rigidity and strength of the toolholder. The surface of the chip flute treated with nickel-phosphorus coating can make the chip evacuate smoothly, and the length of the chip flute is shorter, thereby reducing the occurrence of chip squeezing.

The DR drill for ISCAR lathe is mainly designed for lathe use, that is, the drill bit does not rotate, and the drilled hole is in a horizontal direction, and the chips can be discharged naturally. The cooling mechanism is fixed on the flange of the machine tool by threaded connection, and can be sprayed directly to the cutting part, which can reduce the cutting temperature, reduce the cutting friction and chip removal. DR drilling can also be used for hole machining with tool rotation.

The cutter body contains 11 models, combined with the X-axis deflection of the cutter, the aperture range that can be processed is 14-60mm. The drill bit uses ISCAR standard coated blades SOMX and SOMT, combined with ISCAR's most advanced SUMO technology coating IC808 and IC8080. All important dimensions are laser marked on the handle.
