Material selection and processing technology of flat washer

In threaded fasteners, the bearing surfaces of bolts, screws, and nuts cannot be made very large (limited by materials and processes). In order to reduce the compressive stress of the pressure-bearing surface and protect the surface of the connected parts, washers are used. Flat washer material selection:

The gasket should be made of hot-rolled steel plate, hot-rolled and pickled steel plate or cold-rolled steel plate stamping, or using bar and tube cutting, rolling, forging and other processing methods. The specific processing method is determined by the manufacturer's choice.

There are two main processing techniques for flat washers, one is deburring treatment, and the other is surface protection treatment;

To remove burrs, the gasket should be polished, shaken or other methods to remove burrs and flash.

Surface protection treatment. The surface treatment of gasket products in the standard is divided into coating (thick) and plating (thin). The author believes that it should be equally applicable to other fastener products-bolts (screws, studs) and nuts. Although in some other corresponding standards, there is no such specific description as the standard.

Warm reminder: If there are no other regulations for the gasket without protective layer, the surface of the gasket should be an ordinary surface, that is, there is no other coating (plating) layer except for anti-oil attraction.
