Operating methods and precautions for bench drills and vertical drilling machines

1. Bench drill operating skills, taboos and precautions 1. Bench drill operation steps and operating skills (1) Choose one bench drill. (2) Adjust the position of the V-belt on the tower wheel and select the appropriate speed of the main shaft. 1) Press the V-belt cover open button to open the V-belt cover on the upper part of the bench drill. 2) Loosen the motor fastening handle and move the motor to the left to loosen the V-belt (see figure). 3) Adjust the position of the V-belt to make the spindle speed meet or approach the speed required by the cutting amount. 4) Move the motor to the right and tighten the V-belt. 5) Slightly press the middle of the V-belt with your thumb to check the tightness of the V-belt. The tightness of the V-belt is suitable for the thumb to feel elastic. 6) Tighten the fixed handle of the motor. 7) Press down the V-belt cover by hand to return it to its position. (3) Adjust the up and down position of the headstock. 1) Loosen the front frame locking handle. 2) Turn the handle on the top of the bench drill (turn the headstock clockwise to rise, and vice versa) to adjust the up and down position of the headstock to the requirements. 3) Tighten the handle of the headstock. (4) Correct the position of the workpiece, locate and clamp it. (5) Clamp the selected drill chuck and drill bit. (6) Turn the motor switch to make the main shaft rotate forward. (7) Standing on the front of the machine tool, gently hold the spindle up and down to manipulate the handle and rotate it counterclockwise to realize the feed until the drilling is completed (when the drilling is deep, the tool can be withdrawn from time to time to remove chips). (8) Return the spindle, turn off the motor, and remove the workpiece, drill chuck and drill bit. (9) Finish drilling, arrange equipment and clean up the site. 2. Operation taboos and precautions (1) The high speed of the bench drill is not suitable for countersinking and reaming, let alone machine tapping with taps. (2) When drilling through holes, make sure that the drill bit can pass through the tool hole on the work surface, or put a shim under the workpiece to avoid damaging the work surface. (3) When using a tool to move the V-belt to change speed, prevent your fingers from being caught. (4) After the bench drill is used up, the exposed sliding surface and work surface of the machine tool must be wiped clean, and lubricating oil must be added to each sliding surface and each lubrication point. 3. Maintenance tips (1) Always keep the bench drill tidy, clean up the chips and wipe the work surface after drilling. (2) The exposed sliding surface and each lubrication point should be filled with lubricating oil in time. (3) The equipment should be inspected regularly, if any problems are found, report for repair in time. 2. Vertical drilling machine operation skills, taboos and precautions 1. Vertical drilling machine operation steps and operating skills (1) Choose one vertical drilling machine. (2) Workpiece alignment, positioning and clamping. (3) Select suitable drill bits and drill chucks, install and clamp them. (4) Pull the two spindle speed handles on the left side of the spindle box, and select the required speed according to the spindle speed label. (5) Pull the two feed speed change handles on the left side of the feed box, and select the required feed volume according to the feed volume label. (6) Select the motorized feed mode, and pull out the end cap at the feed handle seat. (7) Pull the motor start handle on the left side of the drill press. The handle is in the neutral position in the middle position, downward is the main shaft forward rotation, and upward is the main shaft reverse rotation. (8) The spindle feeds automatically to the drilling depth. (9) Push back the end cover at the handle seat, retract the main shaft, finish drilling, and turn off the motor. (10) Unload the workpiece, organize the equipment, and clean up the site. 2. Vertical drilling machine operation taboos and precautions (1) Before using the vertical drill, move the control handles to the correct position and run the test run in an idling mode. It can be operated and used when all the mechanisms are in normal operation. (2) When changing the spindle speed or motorized feed, it must be adjusted after stopping. (3) When changing the spindle speed or motorized feed, the end cover of the handle base must be pushed inward to disconnect the motorized feed movement. (4) It is strictly forbidden to clamp and inspect the workpiece while the spindle is rotating. 3. The first-level maintenance skills and know-how of vertical drilling machine. In addition to the rational use of machine tools in accordance with the correct operating procedures, daily maintenance needs to be done. This plays a very important role in reducing equipment accidents, prolonging the service life of machine tools and improving equipment integrity. The daily maintenance of the drilling machine includes: carefully inspected by the operator before and after the shift, wiping each part of the drilling machine and oiling maintenance, so that the drilling machine is often kept lubricated and clean. If the drilling machine fails in the class, it must be eliminated in time and carefully recorded. The drilling machine should be maintained at the first level after 500 hours of cumulative operation. The first-level maintenance is based on the operator, with the cooperation of maintenance workers. Partial disassembly and inspection of the drilling machine. Clean the specified parts, dredge the oil passage, replace the oil line linoleum, and adjust the clearance of each part to be close to each part. (1) External maintenance. 1) The appearance is clean, no rust, no pollution. 2) Check and fill up the screws, handle balls, and handles. 3) Clean the screw, rack and bevel gear of the workbench. (2) Lubrication. 1) The oil path is unobstructed, clean and free of iron filings. 2) Clean the oil pipe, oil hole, oil line, and linoleum. 3) Check that the oil quality is normal, the oil gauge and oil level are normal, and the oil window is bright. (3) Cooling. 1) Clean the cooling water pump and filter. 2) Clean all coolant tanks. 3) Change the coolant according to the situation.
