Screw specification model

For product structure designers, screws and nuts are not unfamiliar. In fact, from the beginning of sensibility, there is a preliminary understanding of screws, which can be seen and found everywhere in daily life, ranging from house decoration to small computers and mobile phones. But when we are developing new products, there is always an inexplicable embarrassment that we want to find but never find, such as the size and thickness of the nut, the length of the screw, and the screw with special requirements, etc.

Below I roughly summarize the specifications and models of screws and nuts that we often use in the structure of electronic products, so that you can better find them in the follow-up work.

01, Screw production standard

GB Chinese National Standard (National Standard) ANSI American National Standard (American Standard)

DIN German National Standard (German Standard) ASME American Society of Mechanical Engineers Standard

JIS Japanese National Standard (Japanese Standard) BSW British National Standard

ISO-International Standard (Guide: What is the difference between a non-serrated lock washer and an outer serrated lock washer?)

GB national standard is one of many standards in our country, in addition to industry standards, professional standards and some standards. National standards are divided into GB (mandatory standards), GB/T (recommended standards) and GBn (national internal standards). What we usually see like GB30, GB5783, etc. are mandatory standards

In addition to the differences in the basic dimensions of the above several standards, such as the opposite side of the head and the thickness of the head, the most important thing is the difference in the thread part. The threads of GB, DIN, JIS, etc. are all based on MM (millimeters), which are collectively referred to as metric threads.
