When assembling metal stamping dies, the gap between the die and the punch must be accurately guaranteed, otherwise, qualified stamping parts will not be produced, and the service life of the stamping die will be greatly reduced. Many mold workers who have just entered the industry do not know how to ensure the clearance of metal stamping dies. Today, stamping will explain in detail several common methods and features to ensure the clearance of stamping dies. One, the measurement method. Insert the male mold into the hole of the female mold, use a feeler gauge to check the fit clearance of different parts of the male and female molds, adjust the relative position between the male and female molds according to the inspection results, and make the gap between the two in each part consistent. Features: The method is simple and easy to operate. It is suitable for large-gap molds with a gap between convex and concave molds (one side) above 0.02mm. Second, the light transmission method. Place the cushion block between the fixed plate and the concave mold, and clamp it with clamps; flip the stamping mold, clamp the mold handle on the flat-nose clamp, irradiate it with a flashlight or flashlight, and observe in the leakage hole of the lower mold . Determine the gap size and uniform distribution according to the light transmission. When it is found that the light transmitted between the male mold and the female mold is too much in a certain direction, it indicates that the gap is too large. Hit the corresponding side with a hammer to make the male mold move in a larger direction, and then repeat the penetration. Light, adjust to the right. Features: The method is simple, easy to operate, but more labor-intensive, suitable for assembling small stamping dies. Third, the gasket method. According to the size of the matching gap between the male and female molds, a paper strip (fragile and unreliable) or metal sheet of uniform thickness is inserted into the matching gap between the male and female molds to make the clearance between the male and female molds uniform. Features: The process is more complicated, but the effect is ideal, and the gap after adjustment is uniform. Fourth, the coating method. Apply a layer of paint (such as enamel or amino alkyd insulating varnish, etc.) on the punch, the thickness of which is equal to the matching gap (single side) of the convex and concave molds, and then insert the punch into the hole of the concave mold to obtain a uniform punching gap . Features: This method is simple and suitable for stamping dies that cannot be adjusted by the gasket method (small gap). Five, copper plating method. The copper plating method is similar to the coating method. The working end of the punch is plated with a copper layer with a thickness equal to the unilateral clearance of the convex and concave molds instead of the paint layer, so that the convex and concave molds can obtain a uniform clearance. The thickness of the coating is controlled by current and electroplating time. The thickness is uniform and it is easy to ensure a uniform die blanking gap. The coating can be peeled off by itself during the use of the mold and does not need to be removed after assembly. Features: Uniform gap but complicated process.
