The self-piercing riveting process of waist-drum-shaped solid rivets, as shown in Figure 1, the punch pushes the solid rivets downward together, the cutting edge of the lower part of the rivet flushes the riveting material and falls from the die, and the rivet stops moving when it reaches the die; As the punch continues to descend, the boss on the lower end of the punch pressurizes the riveted material, forcing it to undergo plastic deformation and flow inward radially, so that it tightly wraps the waist drum rivet, thus forming a stable lock Halt state. This riveting process can only be used for the connection between plastic metal and metal. (Guide: Three basic methods of preventing loosening of threaded fasteners)
Another solid rivet self-piercing riveting technique is shown in Figure 2. The shape of the rivet is not a waist drum, but there is an annular groove on the rivet. When the punch descends to the bottom dead center and squeezes the riveted material, the riveted material in the lower layer is squeezed to produce radial flow to fill the concave blank holder ring groove of the groove, and the upper end surface of the rivet produces an upsetting head, and the two The layer materials are riveted together.
