Some industry terms in the metal stamping industry

When I first worked in the stamping parts industry, I heard my colleagues say a lot of industry terms, but I didn’t understand them very well. Now I am familiar with the stamping industry. Precision is a large-scale manufacturing enterprise engaged in the customized production of precision stamping parts, and has accumulated rich experience in the design and manufacture of stamping parts. Next, as an industry veteran, I will introduce to you some industry terms in the stamping parts processing industry. 1. Blanking Blanking should be a very common word, because no matter what the specifications and models of metal stamping parts, the first step in processing is blanking. Blanking usually uses a punch or shear to separate the blank of the desired product from the raw material for subsequent processing. 2. Punching Punching is easier to understand. It refers to punching holes in materials or products with a punching needle. 3. Flanging Flanging has different effects on different products. There are many specific common examples. The edges of stainless steel basins in daily use are made of flanging. 4. Stretching. Stretching usually involves processing flat materials into hollow products with openings, such as water cups, shells, containers, etc. Stretching is relatively common in the stamping process. For example, car doors and shells are also stamped and stretched. 5. Forming After punching, punching and other processes, metal stamping parts need to be formed. In order to obtain the products we need, bending is the forming process. 6. Trimming If the edges of the processed stamped parts are not smooth or irregular, trimming is required.
