As we all know, mold steel needs a good polishing skill to reflect the essential properties of the material, but the polishing problem of precision stamping parts has always been a problem that companies cannot fundamentally solve. The big problem encountered in the polishing of precision stamping parts is 'over-polishing'. Over-polishing means that the longer the polishing time, the worse the surface quality of the mold. There are two phenomena when over-polishing occurs, namely 'orange peel' and 'micropits'. Over-polishing mostly occurs in mechanical polishing. The irregular and rough surface of precision stamping parts is called 'orange peel'. There are many different reasons for the occurrence of 'orange peel'. The common reasons are that the polishing pressure is too large, the polishing time is too long, and the polishing method is improper. If the surface quality of precision stamping parts is not good, many people will increase the polishing pressure and prolong the polishing time. In addition, the improper polishing process will often make the surface quality worse. The formation of 'micropits' or 'sand holes' is due to the non-metallic inclusions (impurities) of the steel grade, which are usually hard and brittle oxides; they are pulled out from the surface of the steel during the polishing of precision stamping parts to form 'micro 'Pit' or 'sand hole'.
