Our company generally requires the service life of the mold to be 500,000 strokes, but under the current market sales situation of multi-variety, small and medium-sized batch production, whether the mold service life continues to be reasonable according to the requirement of 500,000 strokes is worth reconsidering, reducing it to 400,000 Even 300,000 strokes are under consideration. Toyota’s drawing die material mainly uses ductile iron (KSCD-800IS) instead of the alloy cast iron currently popular in our country (currently our company’s outer cover drawing die material is GM246). Toyota is from the aspect of die material cost control The reason for considering the appropriate choice is that ductile iron has good welding performance and machinability, wear resistance and surface quenching hardness are ideal, but the cost is much lower than that of alloy cast iron. Taking into account the high cost of cast steel, Toyota has now used a large number of cast iron materials integrated with the base and the cutting edge as the trimming mold, which greatly reduces the machining cost of the mold. The integral cutting edge of cast iron can be directly used for trimming dies with a life span of hundreds of thousands of times only by surface flame quenching.
