The three most commonly used methods for nut surface treatment

The quality judgment of the nut surface treatment is mainly to check whether the anti-corrosion ability of the nut is effectively increased, and whether the increase is in line with the expected requirements. After the surface treatment of the nut, it can present a more beautiful appearance, and the anti-corrosion ability of the nut itself will be improved. The main purpose is to make the nut itself have anti-corrosion ability, so as to increase the reliability and adaptability of the nut.

Electroplating, hot-dip galvanizing, and mechanical plating on the surface of the nut are the most commonly used methods. We will introduce them separately below.

1. Electroplating of nuts (Guide: Salt spray test standards and test results determination)

The electroplating of the nut refers to immersing the part of the nut that needs to be electroplated into a specific aqueous solution. The aqueous solution will contain some deposited metal compounds, so that after the current passes through the aqueous solution, the metal substance in the solution precipitates and adheres to the nut On the immersion part. Electroplating of nuts generally includes zinc plating, copper, nickel, chromium, copper-nickel alloys, etc.

2. Hot-dip galvanizing of nuts

The hot-dip galvanizing of the nut is to immerse the nut of carbon steel composition into a molten zinc plating tank with a heat of about 510℃, so that the iron-zinc alloy on the surface of the nut will be converted into passivated zinc, thereby obtaining the surface treatment effect.

3. Mechanical plating of nuts

The mechanical plating of nuts refers to the use of specific physical and chemical means to impact the surface of the nut with the powder of the coated metal, so that the coated metal forms a coating on the surface of the nut through cold welding to achieve the surface treatment effect. Mechanical plating of nuts is mainly applicable to spare parts such as screws, nuts and washers.
