Early detection of IKO failures is of great benefit to machinery and production. So how can we do this job better?
If you can identify or predict whether the IKO bearing is malfunctioning or not through disassembly inspection, it is very beneficial to improve productivity and economy. There are three main methods for identifying faults in linear bearings:
1. Carry out bearing voice recognition by a dedicated person or a listening device or a listening stick
Recognition by voice requires extensive experience. It must be fully trained to be able to recognize IKO bearing sounds and non-bearing sounds. For this reason, it should be done by a dedicated person as far as possible. You can clearly hear the sound of the linear bearing with a listening device or a listening stick attached to the shell.
2. Recognize by the state of IKO bearing lubricant
First, the lubricant is sampled and analyzed, and judged by whether the degree of contamination is mixed with foreign matter or metal powder. This method is especially effective for bearings that cannot be observed close or large bearings.
Three, through the IKO bearing working temperature to identify
This method is a comparative identification method and is limited to occasions where the operating state is not changed. For this reason, the temperature must be continuously recorded. When a fault occurs, not only the temperature rises, but also irregular changes.
(1) The resultant force of the applied force passes through the axis of the imported bearing as much as possible, which requires the application point to be uniform, symmetrical and stable, and force applied through a spherical surface or parallel to the axis.
(2) The force applied should be stable and uniform, and no impact should be applied. This requires the use of oil pressure or tools that can apply a stable tension or pressure. When hammering is necessary, copper sleeves must be used. Softer metal without falling chips is cushioned, and the percussive force is as gentle as possible. It is best to use a copper rod or copper hammer for hammering.
(3) Avoid applying force through the rolling elements, which requires applying force through the inner ring when assembling and disassembling the inner ring (shaft ring), and applying force through the outer ring when assembling and disassembling the outer ring.
(4) The drag force should be continued to the required level, for example, when the bearing is installed, the force should be stopped when the bearing is just installed in the correct position to ensure that the end face of the ring (washer) abuts against the seat hole or the shaft stop The shoulders should not be squeezed too tightly, nor should they fit in place.
The criteria for judging are different according to the mechanical performance, importance, and inspection cycle. If the linear bearing parts are broken or defective, or the rolling surface of the raceway surface is peeled off, the imported bearing will not be reused and must be replaced.
