Antique bricks originated from glazed bricks in Europe. They were first introduced to the mainland by Taiwanese businessmen. They were called pan-ancient bricks. Later, they were called classical bricks, retro bricks, and antique bricks. Many people are used to calling it, and gradually become the trade name of similar bricks. The color and appearance of antique bricks embody the style of returning to nature. Antique bricks create a nostalgic atmosphere through styles, colors and patterns. Reflecting the vicissitudes of the years, the rich history, and attracting people's attention with the classic unique charm.
The production process of antique tiles is basically the same as that of ordinary tiles, but new content is added in each specific process.
Raw materials, because the raw materials used in antique bricks are very different from the previous ones, in addition to the basic powder, many dry granular materials and special raw materials have been added, which puts forward higher requirements for raw material processing and mixing technology.
Forming, the bricks of some products are stamped with concave-convex dies, which makes the antique bricks more three-dimensional and natural stone effect.
Glazing and printing are important processes with the highest technical content of antique tiles. The main process control points are basically concentrated on the glazing line. The product uses printing technology to improve the surface pattern and texture and enhance its taste. Now it tends to use rubber roller printing, dry powder printing and other means to achieve antique and natural patterns.
Firing, this is the core process of ceramic production. In order to make the product reach a fully vitrified state, the water absorption rate is controlled below 0.5%, and the firing temperature has been increased to above 1200°C. In addition, in order to achieve special decorative effects for ceramic tiles, in addition to primary firing, secondary firing and tertiary firing techniques have also been applied in the production of antique tiles.
Post-processing, for traditional colorful glazed tiles and crystal tiles, the products can be graded and packaged after firing. In the production of antique tiles, as the requirements for decorative effects become higher and higher, the products are fired. After completion, some additional processing procedures are added, such as glaze polishing (soft polishing, semi-polishing, and full polishing). The glaze is polished to change the gloss of the tile surface and receive an alternative aesthetic effect.
