What is the role of contact shrapnel in the connector

The contact shrapnel has the following 3 functions on the connector:

1. Provide a telecommunications path between components

2. Generate pressure to form and maintain the contact surface of the contact shrapnel

For a detachable contact interface, the main function of the elasticity of the contact spring is to provide a butting force between the two mating surfaces. Material properties refer to Young's modulus and yield limit. These properties severely affect the elastic deflection performance and elastic deflection amount. The yield limit is also important because it reduces the insertion force. However, the elastic strength must correspond to the manufacturing and crimping properties.
