The influence of the mechanical properties of metal materials on the stamping performance

by:Fortuna     2021-03-03
The stamping performance of metal materials refers to the adaptability of metal materials to various stamping processes. For example, when a certain material is selected for stamping, this material is easy to process, the resulting stamping parts have high tolerance levels, good quality, high production efficiency, very few waste products, and chess wear is very slow; it can be said that the stamping of this material Good performance. The mechanical properties of metal materials are the main determinant of the stamping performance of metal materials. 1) The effect of elasticity on stamping performance. Blanking, punching, cutting, trimming and other separation processes are more suitable for metal materials with better elasticity because of better separation elasticity. The metal material can get good quality cross section. Because of its elasticity, metal materials will spring back after bending, which makes the bending parts unable to meet the predetermined shape and size requirements. And the better the elasticity, the greater the rebound. The springback of the bent parts brings difficulties to the production, and it takes a lot of man-hours to adjust and repair the working parts of the mold. 2) The influence of plasticity on stamping performance The deformation processes such as bending, drawing and forming are all carried out based on the plasticity of metal materials. Metal materials with better plasticity have a large degree of allowable deformation, which can reduce the number of process steps and the number of intermediate annealing in stamping, and even do not require intermediate annealing as one of the indicators of the plastic deformation ability of metal materials. The uniform elongation of the metal material directly determines The stamping performance of the material. In practice, such as the degree of limit deformation of stamping forming, such as flanging coefficient, necking coefficient, minimum bending radius, bulging coefficient, etc., can be directly or indirectly expressed by uniform elongation. The separation process requires the material to have proper plasticity, the plasticity is too high, the material is too soft, punching is easy to produce large burrs, and its size is not easy to meet the requirements. The plasticity is too low, the material is too hard and brittle, and the mold is easy to wear. (3) The influence of strength and hardness on stamping performance. The strength of metal materials is high, and its hardness is also high. If the strength and hardness of the material are high, its plasticity must be low. Therefore, metal materials with high hardness are not good for deformation processes such as bending, deep drawing and forming. In general, the hardness of the materials used in the deformation process is low, but the metal material with a certain strength and hardness can get better section quality in the separation process. The requirements of various types of stamping parts for the mechanical properties of metal materials are shown in the figure below.
