How to deal with the black metal shrapnel?

by:Fortuna     2021-04-11
When the metal shrapnel needs to improve the corrosion resistance or change the appearance color in the use environment, the stamping manufacturer will be required to do some surface treatment. The commonly used surface treatment of springs is blackening, which is a common method of chemical surface treatment, and a method of steel surface treatment. The function is to use a chemical reaction method to form a tight protective film on the metal shrapnel to prevent the shrapnel from being corroded. There are two blackening methods, oxidation treatment and phosphating treatment. These two kinds of blackening treatment have low cost and high production efficiency. The manufacturers of stamping springs commonly use oxidation treatment. The oxidation treatment methods include: salty oxidation method, alkali-free oxidation method and electrolytic oxidation method. The alkaline oxidation method is mostly used. Phosphating treatment puts the spring in a phosphate solution containing manganese, iron, and zinc to form a water-insoluble phosphate film on the metal surface is called phosphating. The appearance of the phosphating film is dark gray, gray or black gray, and has no luster. The blackening process is widely used in metal shrapnel, clocks, pointers, hairsprings, screws, instrument casings and some mechanical parts.
